COMM 150 Fundamentals of Oral Communication – 3 Units, 16 Weeks
Introduction to communication in interpersonal relationships, group interactions and formal speaking. Skill development in listening, speech preparation and oral presentation. Note: In order for this course to satisfy General Education, students must earn a C- or CR or higher grade.
ENG 114 Writing the First Year: Finding Your Voice – 3 Units, 8 Weeks
Practice academic success strategies and habits of mind, learn about campus resources, and learn and practice written academic inquiry, information literacy, the writing process and critical reading in a variety of rhetorical genres.
PHIL 110 Introduction to Critical Thinking I – 3 Units, 8 Weeks
Skills involved in understanding, criticizing, and constructing arguments–and providing foundation for further work not only in philosophy but in other fields as well. Note: In order for this course to satisfy General Education, students must earn a C- or CR or higher grade.
MATH 124 Elementary Statistics – 3 Units, 8 Weeks
Data analysis, probability, and statistical inference. For students in any field where statistics is a means of communication and a tool for decision making.
